Mind the Farm Fundraiser
In 2018, the Lacombe and District Agricultural Society hosted this derby & dance fundraiser. Derby horse races presented by Flying Cross Ranch took place at the on-site racetrack and a cover band performed all night in the Show Barn. The event was a fundraiser for the Do More Agriculture Foundation, a Canada-wide not-for-profit organization promoting mental health in agriculture. Do More Ag is a relatively new foundation with a goal of ensuring producers are encouraged, supported and empowered to take care of their mental health.
RCMP Musical Ride
The Musical Ride has been a Canadian tradition since 1876. In the event, a troop of 32 scarlet coated “Mounties” on majestic black horses present intricate figures and cavalry drills choreographed to music. The Lacombe and District Agricultural Society hosted this event at Lacombe Ag Grounds on August 16th, 2019 and around 200 people from all ages attended.
Annual Bull Sale
This bull sale is one of the province’s longest-running multi-breed bull sales. It is unique because it provides an opportunity for those breeders with smaller purebred herds to market their genetics. The Lacombe and District Agricultural Society is proud to have sponsored this event for 110 years​.
